Chara Social is a public home for original characters, fictional worlds, personas, and virtual selves. It is not a replacement for the tools you already use. Keep drafting in your notes, building lore in your documents, and sketching ideas however you like. Chara Social is where those creations become presentable, shareable, and alive. That is where they meet the world.

When you are ready to share, you come to Chara Social to create a presence, a page that represents who or what your creation is. From there, you can post an introduction, set your interaction preferences, receive questions from others, join community prompts, and let your characters cross paths with other creators' creations. At the heart of all this is The Crossing, a shared space where these connections happen.

Creators also get a public author page, a shareable hub for their profile, banner, characters, worlds, galleries, lore, canon, and announcements. It gives the person behind the work a public presence too, so your projects can be shared in bios, pinned posts, portfolios, fan communities, or anywhere you already gather an audience.

Chara Social also connects to the wider fediverse, providing a way for creators and authors to socialize with the outside web. You choose what becomes public, what stays inside Chara Social, and what you are not ready to share yet. Your characters and lore will never be shared across the decentralized network unless you explicitly choose to do so. If you want to reach out, you can interact with external federated communities, giving you the freedom to network outside while keeping your worlds under your control.

Chara Social itself does not train AI models on creator content and does not sell or license creator content for AI training. However, public pages are still public web pages. Chara Social cannot fully prevent third parties from copying, scraping, or misusing what is publicly visible. We encourage creators to choose carefully what they make public and to use community-only visibility when appropriate.

Chara Social is open to OC creators, worldbuilders, persona-based and self-representative characters, as well as VTubers, VSingers, and virtual performers, whether active, retired, or conceptual. You do not need a finished universe, a detailed lore bible, or a debut plan. A character concept or a virtual self is enough to have a presence here.

This space is built on respect for creators and their ownership, creative freedom without exploitation, and collaboration without pressure or obligation. While characters may clash in stories, creators are expected to treat each other with kindness and respect. Join in when you want, and take your time when you do not.

To keep this space safe and welcoming for everyone, a few boundaries are strictly enforced. NSFW content, including any sexual, explicit, or adult material, is not allowed in any form. Propaganda or harmful ideologies, such as political campaigning, hate speech, or content promoting real-world harm, are also strictly prohibited.
