Chara Social is the social and interaction layer for original characters, fictional worlds, personas, and virtual selves. It is not a replacement for the tools you already use. Keep drafting in your notes, building lore in your documents, and sketching ideas however you like. Chara is where those creations come to meet the world.

When you are ready to share, you come to Chara to create a presence, a page that represents who or what your creation is. From there, you can post an introduction, set your interaction preferences, receive questions from others, join community prompts, and let your characters cross paths with other creators' creations. At the heart of all this is The Crossing, a shared space where these connections happen.

Chara Social also connects to the wider fediverse, providing a way for creators and authors to socialize with the outside web. However, your creations remain completely safe on our own servers. Your characters and lore will never be shared across the decentralized network unless you explicitly choose to do so. If you want to reach out, you can interact with external federated communities, giving you the freedom to network outside while keeping your worlds entirely under your control.

Chara Social is open to OC creators, worldbuilders, persona-based and self-representative characters, as well as VTubers, VSingers, and virtual performers, whether active, retired, or conceptual. You do not need a finished universe, a detailed lore bible, or a debut plan. A character concept or a virtual self is enough to have a presence here.

This space is built on respect for creators and their ownership, creative freedom without exploitation, and collaboration without pressure or obligation. While characters may clash in stories, creators are expected to treat each other with kindness and consent. All interaction is opt-in.

To keep this space safe and welcoming for everyone, a few boundaries are strictly enforced. NSFW content, including any sexual, explicit, or adult material, is not allowed in any form. Propaganda or harmful ideologies, such as political campaigning, hate speech, or content promoting real-world harm, are also strictly prohibited.
